Ever have questions as to which is the best “Botox” product? Or, what locations can it be used on the face or neck for aesthetic improvements?

I tell my patients that I have used Botox brand (from Allergan) and Xeomin (from Merz) for years, and now I exclusively love the product Jeaveau from Evolus. Jeaveau is manufactured in the USA, is FDA approved, and has a few improvements over the other two Botox products in my opinion. However, any good injector could use any of the Botox products and get great results!

Jeaveau is a bit more precise; it is a little slower in its onset of action, but it’s also slower in its offset of action. Also, it is priced better for the physician and the patient. There’s a built-in $40 per visit manufacturer’s discount every three months.

There are many more locations where this can be injected than the standard forehead, crow’s feet, and glabellar “11 lines” locations.

There are the bunny lines of the bridge of the nose, there’s the gummy smile injection point, and there is the DAO, which stands for depressor angular oris muscle, which releases the pull-down effect of the muscles that help produce the unwanted marionette creases and pre-jowle sulcus formation of the lower face (just below the corners of the mouth).

There are several more locations that can be used, but generally for the lower face, we look to fillers, and thickening of the skin using sculpture, Aesthetic, and or PDO Threads. I’ll address those in other short articles in the near future.

For the neck, don’t expect Botox to fix the lateral creases, but only to improve the vertical muscle bands of the platysma muscle.
